San Antonio BW Begins March 2nd! Register Today!

The Guadalupe teams up with Barrio Writers for a FREE 8-week writing workshop series offered once a week for teens during the spring semester! The BW workshops will be offered in two locations, the Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center and the San Antonio Central Library. Each workshop will be lead by a local, active writer in the community that will focus on social justice, empowerment, and making change.

In San Antonio, Barrio Writers provides youth ages 14-19 with tools to improve their skills in reading, grammar, creative writing and freedom of expression through cultural arts. Each writing workshop is designed to empower the teenage community while preparing students for critical exploration of literatures against personal and social histories. The participants will also be given the opportunity to publish in the next Barrio Writers anthology!

Barrio Writers is made possible through the partnership with the San Antonio Public Library Foundation. Send questions to macondo@guadalupeculturalarts.org or call literary arts director Laurie Ann Guerrero at (210) 271-3151 ext. 220.
